Q. How long have you been running?
A. I began running 8 years ago.
Q. What made you want to start running?
A. I started running for my overall health and I continue to run because running allows me to focus and clears my mind. My goals for running are to be able to run a 6 minute mile for the duration of a 10K I would also like to run at least one half marathon a year. It is important to me to show my brothers and sisters as well as everyone I surround myself with how important your health is. Not only does running keep me in tip top shape running plays a role in my overall happiness.
Q. How many times a week do you run?
A. I make it a point to run at least 5 times a week with my wife or by myself. It is very important to me that I complete 5 runs a week.
Q. How many races do you participate in per year?
A. I register and run in at least 5 races per year.
Q. Why did you decide to make the Snap! Crackle! Run an annual event?
A. Being involve in the community is very important to me. Last year the first ever "Snap! Crackle! Run!" went so well and the support from my team and the community was overwhelming. A race is a great way for people to come together to promote fitness and a healthy life-style. When people in the community come out to support great causes such as The Ronald McDonald House, that is a “Win-Win” for everyone. 100% of the proceeds from the 2nd annual “Snap, Crackle, Run" will be donated to charity.
Q. Why did you choose to donate proceeds from the 2nd Annual "Snap! Crackle! Run to the Ronald McDonald House?
A. Our first Snap! Crackle! Run was a great success. It was a really good feeling to raise money and shed light on Alex's Lemonade and Sow Much Good Last year. So much so that I felt the need to bring attention to a new charity this year. This year I chose The Ronald McDonald House because of what they stand for. I love the idea that the RMHC believes that "Families are Stronger when they are together." The goal of The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is to improve the health and well-being of nearly 3.7 million children worldwide every year speaks volumes. Some families stay at the house and are unable to afford to make a donation. So I am happy to be given the opportunity to assist. The fact that there is a local chapter that the 2nd Annual Snap Fitness "Snap! Crackle! Run!" is able to shed a little more light on is a blessing. I feel like this is my duty as a human being to do so.
Q. What is your vision for Snap Fitness and how does running fit into that vision?
A. Our goal is for Snap Fitness is to remain involved in the community. We would like to continue to grow the location through educating the community on the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. What better way to do that than the “Snap, Crackle, Run. We will continue to offer FREE Running Clubs, Boot Camps, and other classes. We want fitness to be fun, enjoyable and accessible to everyone!
